Anime : Dragon Ball Z

Perhaps the most famous anime ever.

Dragon ball Z first graced the screens in the east nearly 20 years ago. It's the sequel to the popular anime and manga series "dragon ball" and has increased on what was already a huge cult following. When we finally received it over here in the UK it wasn't known what the reception would be. It has however proved to be the platform on which all other anime stands. It is very different to anything we had over here and was welcomed as something refreshing and exciting.

The story follows Goku who is our main hero. He is blessed with a tremendous amount of energy and strength. He can also manipulate his energy giving him the power of flight, super speed and the ability to shoot blasts of pure energy out of his hands when he focuses. Our hero has grown up since dragon ball. He now has a son called Gohan! It is when Gohan is kidnapped that the story starts. An evil mysterious man named Raditz takes Gohan and easily incapacitates Goku. Even stranger is that he claims to be from another planet and refers to Goku as his brother.

After recovering Goku travels to where his brother is and fights him with the help on an old rival Piccolo. This is just a taster of what proves to be a fascinating plot and some truly awesome fights. Throughout the series Goku and his friends gain more and more power, learning new techniques and encountering unimaginably strong enemies. You are going to be taken on a journey that reaches nearly 300 episodes!

WAIT! How silly of me. I haven't even told you what the dragon balls are! There are seven of these mysterious orbs that are scattered across the globe. If someone collects them all they can summon the dragon Shenlong who will grant them any one wish.

You may be thinking all this sounds a bit on the childish side and I admit it is. There is enough depth to it however to give adults enjoyment too. It gives you a taste of another culture and you can see how art differs between countries!

I love Dragon ball. The whole franchise was my introduction to a world I am glad to be apart of. There is nothing like immersing yourself into a good book but the same is true for this world of anime and manga.

Recently it has been announced that dragon ball z will grace the silver screen. You will be seeing actors such as chou-yun-fatand james masters bring together a live action take on this famous anime. It should generate quite a bit of hype but unfortunately #i do not think it will live up to the anime

TV show : Naruto

Naruto is a great anime fighting show that involves ninjas and great concepts of special jutsus. It's an anime which means it has a cartoon quality woven perfectly with a great story line. It started of in Japan where it is a big hit show, and now moved to America where it has been adapted by many so quickly as well. Naruto is my all time favorite show and I'm even watching it as I typed this review.

First of, The story plot of Naruto is about a young outcast boy plagued by a demonic fox trapped in his body. He had to struggle throughout most of his life in loneliness and failure. Until one day, he gained friends that help him through his journey. He turns from a weak ninja, to one of the most promising ninjas. His ambition is to become hokage, the leader of the village he lives in, and gain respect.

Along with him, there are other main characters such as sakura, sasuke, lee, kakashi, and so on. These ninjas embark on a quest to climb the ranks of being a ninja and proven there mettle against many fights. As they continue there way up to becoming a hokage, they meet many villains such as orochimaru, kabuto, the akatsuki clan, and so on that try to hindere them. The show is so perfectly designed and elaborate that it is hard to find flaws in the story line.

I would highly recommend this show if you love cartoons, anime, action, fighting, ninjas, suspense, great story plots, or just love tv in general. currently there are about 160 english episodes and 250 japenese episodes. Here are my ratings on various components of the show:

graphics: 8/10 stars
music: 6/10 stars
intro song: 9/10 stars
characters: 10/10 stars
story plot: 7/10 stars
overall: 8/10 stars

Naruto is a great show for all ages and shows valuable lessons as well. I would greatly recommend this show to be watched. Before I finish this review, I would really like to say that you need patience to understand things. It's not a show that has random episodes, but a show that comes in a series. So start of from the first episode if you have never seen it before. The only major flaw of the show though is the repition of things. It usually goes through many flashbacks and fills in time with dialogues. After that though, there are many exciting episodes and drama. Watching them all will give you a different perspective in life.

Mugglenet.com

Unless you've been living under a rock for a good number of years, I'm sure you've heard of Harry Potter, and his many fantasy adventures. Originally created by a British author by the name of J. K. Rowling, it started out as just fantasy novels, but grew into somewhat of a world wide fascination with everything about Harry Potter.

Many movies and video games were created based on the Harry Potter series, and on-line there is tons of fan made websites with information about Harry Potter. One of the most mentionable is called Mugglenet, though the name may seem strange, this fan site is nothing to look down upon.

Your probably wondering what types of information this site has about Harry Potter, we'll get to that in just a minute, I'm going to explain all the good and the bad about this site. After I've done that, I'll give it a proper rating based on my experiences using the site, sounds fair enough right? Lets get started!

*The Good

At first glance, the site appears to be somewhat professionally designed. If you take a look at the left side of the page you see a list of things that Mugglenet offers, including a chat, fan art, and so on.

For a fan site, Mugglenet is pretty impressive, as they have interviews from the stars of the Harry Potter movies. The site also offers a weekly podcast in which they discuss the latest Harry Potter news and rumors.

The website can also been translated into different languages, which is a pretty big advantage for a fan site. Proving that this one is very well developed and taken care of. One of the more humorous sections of the book displays mistakes that were in several of the books.

Interestingly enough, there is a section called "The Little Things", which describes clues J.K Rowling left in the books concerning characters deaths and so on. If you don't find this interesting how about checking out the section where the website discusses oddities in the book.

You will also find pictures of the Harry Potter characters on this site, as well as links to many Harry Potter Forums, and before entering the chat you receive a warning that you may encounter movie and book spoilers.

Mugglenet contests seem pretty interesting as well, and they even host fan art and fan fiction. So basically this is a site, by the fans, for the fans.

*The Bad

There isn't many bad things about the website, I mean it's almost perfect. Some people may not like the advertisements on each page, but the webmaster has to pay the bills somehow right? If advertisement's don't bother you, and your a Harry Potter fan, I'm sure you'll love this website.

*Final Rating

As I said above, you'll probably need to be a Harry Potter fan to enjoy this site throughly. However, I give this website two thumbs up, because it's very well designed for a fan site and it provides a lot of information on Harry Potter and his many adventures.

Harry Potter fan? Go check this website out right now!

Onemanga.com

Onemanga.com is a website dedicated to
providing online manga reading. As a short background, the term ''manga'' refers to Japanese comics, or comics made in Japan.
Naturally, the original works are in japanese. Translation into the
english language is made by a fan or a group of fans called
''scanlators'', thus allowing manga to be enjoyed by people who are not
native japanese. Now, '' scans'' (the translated work) usually can be
read either by downloading the particular series from the scanlators''
website, or by browsing through a site that provides online scans. This is where Onemanga comes in. It
provides online scans for various series from a range of authors. The
site is easy to navigate and no special software or registration is
needed. The service is provided for free, all one needs is a web
browser. Basically you can start reading without the need for downloading. Thus far, the site does not have any particular theme or
genre that it sponsors. Currently the site is open to most genres,
having manga for the young, old, male or female. So there''s action, adventure, horror, romance, school life, etc. As of this writing,
the site does not include a series with explicit adult material. It can be said that the site would like to uphold a wholesome atmosphere. The
site currently hosts most of the popular manga/anime at present, such
as Bleach, Naruto, One Piece and Hunter X Hunter, among many others. The site is organized by series, and
from the particular series, into the corresponding chapters.
Each series has a short summary and some labels to categorize what type of manga it is. Completed series are also labeled, the same goes for newly added and
updated series. There is no definite time for updates, updates are
posted as soon as the scans are at hand. Thus far the updates are
very active speedy. But all in all, the frequency of updates depends
on the availability of scans. The site also has a forum link where
one can discuss a particular manga or even request for a particular
series to be posted up.

Google.com

The world's leading Web search engine has helpfully gathered together a complete list of its ever-growing range of special features, tips and tricks. It also offers a wide range of useful Web tools and services, including Gmail, the free Web-based email you can now port to your cell phone port to your cell phone; Picasa, a great way to organize and edit your photos on your desktop (and share them online using the Web-album publishing tool); and the stellar Google Maps, which recently introduced Street Maps, 360-degree street-level photographic views that allow virtual movement through a location. The images were shot over several months by camera-equipped vans that simply drove up and down the streets of Denver, New York, San Francisco, Las Vegas and Miami (some of the results have raised protests from privacy advocates ). Google's maps now mark public transit stops too. (As an alternative, HopStop does an excellent job providing door-to-door directions by subway or bus from any two points in New York, Chicago, Boston, Washington and San Francisco.)

StumbleUpon.com

StumbleUpon, a startup recently snapped up by eBay, lets you tag sites you think friends should check out, and will recommend sites to you based on what other users have tagged in your areas' interests. When you register to download the StumbleUpon program, you get a handy toolbar for your Web browser. It includes Thumbs Up/Thumbs down buttons, and a "Send To" button you can click to email a link to a friend. When you're in the mood for something new, click the "Channel" button; like a channel-changer, it immediately takes you to a new site, one it figures you might like. When we tried it, many of the sites it pushed to us were pleasant surprises, and made sense based on the topics we selected at sign-up: photography, music and movies, to name a few. As for the site that showed a photo of a small rodent clutching a miniature machine gun, we suppose that one qualified as "Humor." With nearly 2.5 million Stumblers already feeding the network, the fun, we suspect, never ends. Google also offers its own website recommendation tool, represented by a dice icon that, when clicked, takes you to a site Google thinks you'll like based on your past searches. You'll need the Google Toolbar to get that one

Why Use Internet ???!!

It’s the first post and at this time I’m itching to start new web ventures both for fun and profit. I usually do up a list of possible startup and site ideas and narrow them down into those with the highest potential.

There’s really no need to think hard about having the perfect idea. The foundations of popular websites/services are deeply related to the basic reasons why people get online and use the internet. Let’s do some reverse engineering from that perspective.

So, why do people worldwide use the internet?

  1. To communicate and socialize
  2. This is very much a fundamental human need. People like to meet and talk to other people through the internet. They use it to maintain new or existing relationships. They want to communicate ideas and share similar interests. So do something which facilitates communication.

  3. To find information, learn new things and be entertained
  4. The internet is a massive archive of new and old information. It is also a source of pleasure, giving immediate gratification in the form of images, sound and interactivity. As an educational tool, the web is essential for people who are seeking to learn.

People want to find things online. So help them. Create a system which provides information or filters existing content. Blogs, training courses, social news, aggregated news, paid membership sites, online journals, one-stop entertainment portals, video, image and game hubs with a specific focus.

  5. To do work, generate income and run a business
  6. People use the internet to make a living. . Think of ways to help people work smarter and more efficiently online.

Just some thoughts I had. I wrote them down as a reminder and decided to share. ^_^
so lets come online and communicate find new information, learn new things and be entertained
